Oh my goodness, heavens to Etsy!! Just finished the survey and hecks yeah, I’d love to see a million and one things in your shop. Limited edition, small sizes, big ones, new stuff, old stuff, repromos, etc. I love your shop. Oooh girl, I’m crossin’ my fingers. Just used a Creme Fraiche Mash-Up! Honestly though, I’m already setting aside Paypal monies for a shopping spree in October. Heavens to Etsy…Savor’s havin’ a shoppin’ spree for a lucky and a most blessed winner. Congrats to you (whomever it shall be, you lucky Savorette you!). Thank you again Lisa and Mike for your time, squeezin’ in a contest, survey, new products, newsletters, a blog…and not to mention the many beautiful creations in your shop that y’all keep bustin’ out! hey, lisa - i’m headed back to california for the umpteenth week in a row (LA this time - ugh…), but at least there’s wireless on this plane! - hooray for etsy browsing - one of the survey questions made me think of something - i don’t buy many small/sample sizes because the price isn’t low enough - if it were very cheap, i’d try lots of things to know which scents i love - but, when i know i will get a ton more for $11 versus $4.50, i just take the plunge and get the $11 size large creme fraiche! - so, in fact, i’d love to see a cheaper sample set or something with smaller sizes to test

  • Hey Julia!

Actually you’ve hit the nail on the head of why I don’t generally offer sample packs. They’re too expensive. Each teeny bit needs packaging, labeling, and inventory tracking — it is much. much more labor intensive to create a sample pack of 10 items, for example.

So, sample packs wind up being expensive — to create just 15 sample packs of 10 items, I have to create 150 things. That takes so long, and since I do almost everything myself I know I can get a better return if I made 150 full size items instead.

Anyway, that’s the boring business side behind the sample pack thing. I offered them last christmas and I know I will again! :) They just take a ton of planning. It’ll be easier now that Manuel is here to help wrap! :D

With Savor, one can never go wrong. The only reason I buy lil’ CF and Naughty Bits is because I’m a Savorette. I’m learning that I gotta grab big jars of CF…not for me but for my dreamy husband. I swear he won’t shower unless jars of CF are present in the shower. And it’s so true that smaller goods take so much more dang time, packaging, labeling, etc. With the man hours that are put in compared to the price points, I can only imagine. Would you ever do a CF in a larger size than 8 oz? Limited Edition big sizes, higher price, for the die hard fans? Savorettes will pay because your products kicks so much booty! Heck! I’m down to pay for a 10 or 12 oz. jar of Creme Fraiche because it’s so amazing. I’d even be down to pay for a 16 oz. jar of it. Lisa…you soooooooooo rule! I love Savor. xoxolovexo-rainny

  • Only if we move into a bigger house! :) More sizes means — more storage space for containers, more storage space for finished goods, and designing labels for the new size :)

Oooh girl, your soap studio must be jam packed. Your catalogue is beefy enough for all the fans, newbies and die hards. Whatever you create, launch, list is gonna sell thru regardless. I believe a lot of it is how Savor and you, Lisa, make customers feel when they engage and shop with you. Plus, your collection of products is gettin’ fuller and fuller by the minute, why with bars of soaps, shave bars, whipped jarred soaps, body mists, lip butters, body butters, scrubs, etc. And I can imagine that because your master fragrance catalogue is nearly endless, that demand alone for just the regular size stuff is takin’ up much of your time, if not all, that you’ve got to spare. Whatever size, whatever product, whatever scent, there’s somethin’ for everyone at Savor. And when people purchase from you, they feel they’re gettin’ somethin’ luxurious, special…that alone, regardless of size or cost is priceless for your customers. You rock! Keep on keepin’ on girl and don’t stop. Pretty soon, you’re gonna have to bust out with holiday SavorElves! xoxoxo-r
